Welcome to SiteRoast.com!

Thanks for visiting SiteRoast.com. This website was created in order to help sort through the vastness of the worldwide web. There are literally millions of websites out there, many of which are a complete waste of time. Of course, for every hundred thousand junky sites there are, there’s a couple diamonds in the rough that are just what you’re looking for.

The purpose of SiteRoast.com is to find those diamonds, figure out how they can benefit you, and showcase them here. The major search engines do a good job of cataloguing all the webpages, but SiteRoast is here to trim down search engine fat and find the meat. As the tagline says…”We Do The Surfing, So You Don’t Have To!”

To make your visit more effective and enjoyable overall I’ve put together a quick summary of the features you’ll find here. You should find most of your answers below, but if you still have questions after reading this page don’t hesitate to contact me, check out the FAQ or read more about SiteRoast.com.

The SiteRoast.com Blog

The SiteRoast.com blog is where you'll find regular posts discussing websites that have caught my attention. Some posts will be short blurbs, others will be thorough lists of the best sites in a particular category - I call them Cool Zone Lists. I also write full reviews of sites, called Roasts, where I break down the site and talk about what I like and don't like about their product or service. There's no rhyme or reason to how I choose a site to be Roasted, but if you're interested in having me review your site, send me an email and we can work something out.

The Web Kings Collection

There are certain companies and services that have built a solid reputation both online and offline. These businesses are widely considered the leaders in their respective industries and have maintained a certain level of performance for an extended period of time. I've grouped these sites together in a listing and called the group "Web Kings", simply because I consider them to be the internet kings of their field. The group is highly subjective and there's a good chance I left some out that should be included. The simple criteria that I've used are topics that are commonly searched online and recognizable sites within those categories. For quick links to the best sites for your search check out the Web Kings Collection.

The Top Sites Directory

There are many user generated website directories out there, and most of them are extremely useful. The difference between those and the Top Sites Directory is the sites you'll find on SiteRoast.com are reviewed and approved manually by me. This process, while time consuming, maintains the quality and integrity of the directory. There won't be any sites added to it that don't meet the standard I've set for them. A quick explanation of this standard is a site that serves a worthwhile purpose and contains accurate content. If you're interested in searching quality websites by topic have a look at the Top Sites Directory.

The Hot Articles Page

The Hot Articles page is a syndication of articles from some of my favorite sites across a few general but important categories. Things like news, finances, sports, entertainment, etc. are represented here. This page is kind of my own personal RSS reader, but I think many of you will find it useful also. If, after checking it out, you know of any feeds I should include there as well, please don't hesitate to let me know. The Hot Articles page is pretty simple, but it's just another way I'm trying to reduce the enormity of the world wide web.
